About Me

Meet Jane Evans

During college, I lived in a small, old house. My roommates and I loved it's cozy charm and, for the most part, didn't have any problems. However, one day, we noticed that the carpet in one of the bedrooms was wet--and it couldn't be dried. When we called our landlady and the repairman, they discovered that the shower not only needed to be re-caulked, but there was mold everywhere under the carpet. We had to move out for two weeks while they fixed the problem. Soon, thanks to the contractor (the likes of whom you can read about), we were back at home.

A Guide To Custom Swimming Pools For Your Home

Buying a custom pool can add plenty of value to your property and also gives you a nice, cool retreat whenever it is hot outside in the spring and summer. If you are in the market for a new pool, it is vitally important that you learn the important pieces of information that will guide you. To learn more about what to look for during the process and how to get the best pool for your money, read the following guide.

What should I keep in mind about pool ownership?

Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind about pool ownership is that it requires a lot of long-term maintenance and considerations. On a regular basis, you will need to purchase supplies and follow steps to keep the pool clean and the water in the best condition. Over the long-term, you must also consider things like re-panelling your pool and making upgrades, so that you retain property value through the years. By working with a swimming pool contractor frequently, perhaps in the form of an ongoing maintenance plan, you will always stay on top of the care of your pool.

What advantages do I have with custom pools?

When you purchase a custom pool, you'll enjoy a number of benefits that you can't get out of prefabricated models. For instance, custom swimming pools let you work within the framework of your current landscape parameters, rather than against them. Further, these pools are actually more straight forward to construct than traditional concrete pools, because the need to work with humidity and temperature is not as great. Most importantly, a custom pool is created to your particular needs and wants, giving your property more style and better use.

How much do these pools cost?

You will be able to enjoy a great many advantages when it comes to custom swimming pools, but you'll still need to ensure that you stay within your budget. For that reason, work closely with your pool contractor, in order to stay up to date with estimates. Get every estimate in writing and don't sign off on any phase of construction without being clear and on the same page in terms of these costs. These custom pools can range between $20,000 and $55,000, so always shop around for the right team of contractors and materials suppliers.
