About Me

Meet Jane Evans

During college, I lived in a small, old house. My roommates and I loved it's cozy charm and, for the most part, didn't have any problems. However, one day, we noticed that the carpet in one of the bedrooms was wet--and it couldn't be dried. When we called our landlady and the repairman, they discovered that the shower not only needed to be re-caulked, but there was mold everywhere under the carpet. We had to move out for two weeks while they fixed the problem. Soon, thanks to the contractor (the likes of whom you can read about), we were back at home.

A Useful Guide To Remember When Purchasing A Residential Lawnmower

If you care about your lawn, one of the most important equipment you'll need is a lawnmower. There are so many different models to choose from today. To help you make the right selection, keep this buying guide in mind.

Manual vs. Self-Propelled

In terms of how lawn mowers operate, you can either choose a manual or self-propelled design. Both are advantageous in their own right.

For example, with a manual lawnmower, you won't have to spend as much money because they don't have motors incorporated into their design. Just note that more energy will be required on your part to maneuver this type of lawnmower around your property.

Although self-propelled lawnmowers cost significantly more since they do have engines, they are extremely easy to maneuver. The engine essentially takes care of the pushing for you. You'll just need to put more effort into maintaining this type of lawnmower so that you can avoid expensive engine repairs/replacements.

Condition

Another impactful factor to assess that will determine how much you spend is the condition of the lawnmower. If you opt for a brand-new mower, you can worry less about complications arising. Since it has never been used, it will operate flawlessly and so will its features.

However, if you don't have a lot of money to shell out on a mower, consider buying a used one. You can often get a great deal on a fully-functionally mower.

The only thing you have to be careful about is hidden damage. Make sure you fully inspect the used mower you're interested in buying and test it out. Only then can you be sure you're making a wise investment.

Brand

Since a lawnmower is such an important investment, you don't just want to buy any brand. Doing so could leave you with a faulty mower that doesn't last as long and even puts you at risk from a safety standpoint.

You can avoid this fate by seeing what brands are currently the most popular. After narrowing down your options to just a few, check out customer reviews for each. Make sure the brand you select has more positive feedback than negative. It's also beneficial to select a brand that has been involved in this industry for a long time.

There are so many great lawnmowers you can purchase today. Choosing the right one for your property is possible as long as you take into account various aspects, including brand, condition, and overall design. For assistance, contact a lawn care equipment company such as Potestio Brothers Equipment, Inc.
