About Me

Meet Jane Evans

During college, I lived in a small, old house. My roommates and I loved it's cozy charm and, for the most part, didn't have any problems. However, one day, we noticed that the carpet in one of the bedrooms was wet--and it couldn't be dried. When we called our landlady and the repairman, they discovered that the shower not only needed to be re-caulked, but there was mold everywhere under the carpet. We had to move out for two weeks while they fixed the problem. Soon, thanks to the contractor (the likes of whom you can read about), we were back at home.

Spring Is Almost Here: Why You'll Need Professional Maintenance For Your Air Conditioner

Spring is just around the corner. Soon, you'll be turning off your heater and turning on your air conditioner. When you do turn on your air conditioner, you'll want to ensure that the system is ready for operation. The best way to do that is through proper springtime maintenance, which should include a professional HVAC technician. While many people do choose to tackle their HVAC maintenance as a do-it-yourself project, that's not necessarily the best way to go. Here are just some of the reasons why you'll want to hire an HVAC technician for your air conditioner maintenance this spring.

You Want to Ensure a Thorough Job

When you think about your air conditioner, you probably don't think about odors. However, if your air conditioner isn't properly maintained, it may leave your home smelling less than fresh. That's because mold and algae can build up in the hoses and coils. Unfortunately, do-it-yourself maintenance doesn't always get rid of odor-causing problems. If you want to ensure an odor-free summer, leave the air conditioner maintenance to a professional HVAC technician. They'll know right where to find the mold and algae.

You Want to Protect Your Warranty

When it comes to your home operating systems, the right warranty protection is crucial. After all, it's the warranty protection that covers those malfunctions and helps you avoid out-of-pocket expenses. One of the best ways to protect those valuable warranties is to leave the maintenance and repairs to the professionals. The professional repairs and maintenance protect your warranty in a couple of ways. First, they provide a paper trail to prove the work that's been done. Second, they ensure that the work was done by qualified technicians.

You Want to Avoid Accidents and Injuries

Working on an air conditioner may seem like a simple project; however, if done incorrectly, it can leave you with serious injuries. If you're a trained HVAC technician, you understand the safety issues involved in air conditioner maintenance. However, if you're not, you may put yourself at risk for accidents that could lead to serious injuries, such as failing to disconnect the power before any repair or maintenance. When you want to avoid accidents and injuries, use a licensed HVAC technician for your air conditioner maintenance.

You Want to Avoid Additional Work

Finally, when your air conditioner needs maintenance, don't risk additional work. Trying to get your air conditioner ready for summer on your own could result in damage to the system. Unfortunately, damage can be costly to repair. To avoid the risk of additional work, leave the maintenance to the professionals.
